The CG House is modern homes project by GLR Arquitectos and Gilberto L. Rodríguez, beautiful outdoor lighting an intimate garden of palm trees and swimming pool terrace. The CG modern House is based on a generous 17,250 square foot site adjacent to the mountains of the Sierra Madre. Although slope of the site presents a series of design problems, offering spectacular views of the city of Monterrey, provided the architect with a range of opportunities.
From the street, two large oak trees provide privacy and room for a pleasant shade to the terrace above the pool. Due to the sloping nature of the site, a huge wall of exposed concrete defines and encloses the pool and green areas of the house and sets the standard for the design of the house itself, which is dressed in brown / black lava stone , contemporary IPE wood, white stucco and steel.
A wide exterior granite staircase leads to an intimate garden of palm trees. Directly in front is 12 feet tall dark oak door whose scale gives an idea of the dramatic escalation of this 10,650-square-foot house that is beyond, starting with a lobby whose 15 foot high walls are decorated with leaf silver. A massive piece of sculpture coconut roots, stones, modern steel and was designed specifically for this space.
The living room and the dining and family rooms, all have large windows overlooking the garden plans, allowing light to penetrate deep into the spaces and the creation of seamless interaction between interior and exterior spaces. Also, within the house, subtle changes in level between rooms only add interest to the interior layout, but these changes also reflect the topography of the site.
In private areas of the house, which is articulated through a long corridor, the occupants have access to a second garden, located on the highest point in the play, which is less formal and more playful.
